Dave Fleck, CPA

Dave began his career as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand, LLP of Seattle. After receiving his Certified Public Accountants license, he moved into the firm’s tax department. Moving to private industry, Dave spent five years at the Westin Hotel Company and Plum Creek Timber. While at Plum Creek Timber, he helped them establish the first timber Real Estate Investment Trust in the U.S.

Before returning to public accounting, Dave served as the Tax Director for the Ackerley Group and Traders Accounting. Prior to starting Fleck Jurenka, LLP, Dave was a Tax Principal and spent six years in the Commercial Tax Group at Clark Nuber, PS in Bellevue, WA. At Clark Nuber, Dave specialized in the construction and professional service industry as well as high net worth individuals.

Dave earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Oregon and attended Golden Gate University to obtain his Masters in Taxation. Dave is a member of several professional organizations including the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (WSCPA) and Issaquah Chamber of Commerce.

Dave enjoys spending time with his wife Janet and their five kids. Dave loves traveling, the outdoors and spending his summers relaxing and boating in Chelan, Washington. During football and basketball season, he’s cheering for his alma mater, The University of Oregon.

Michael Jurenka, CPA

Partner

Mike has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2006. Mike earned a Bachelors of Science in Business – Accounting and a Masters in Professional Accountancy from Montana State University in May 2005. Following graduation, he moved to Seattle and spent the first five years of his career working for Clark Nuber, PS, in Bellevue.

Mike’s areas of expertise include commercial and individual income tax, as well as international tax. His strongest expertise is working with closely held businesses and their owners on tax issues that arise throughout the course of running a business. He consulted with clients at Clark Nuber on accounting for income taxes for large private and smaller publicly traded clients. Assisting several clients with the implementation and adoption of FIN 48, Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions, is another area Mike excelled.

He is a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (WSCPA), Issaquah Rotary Club, Seattle Official’s Women Basketball Association (SOWB), and Washington Officials Association (WOA).

In his spare time, Michael enjoys international travel and woodworking in the garage. He serves as the Treasurer of the Seattle Officials Women’s Basketball Association and officiates high school basketball as a member of the Washington Officials Association. You are also likely to see Michael cheering on the Seattle Mariners throughout the summer.

Zoe Beck, MBA

Associate

Zoe earned a degree in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Refining with a minor in Environment Science from the Colorado School of Mines. She enjoyed various engineering positions ranging from domestic and international operations support to design and sales support.

In 2003, Zoe embarked on a Certificate of Accounting and a Master of Business Administration with a finance emphasis. She joined Fleck Jurenka, LLP in January of 2012 after six years at another local CPA firm, Tate & Oellrich, Inc, PS.

Zoe works with a wide range of individuals and small business tax clients. She provides tax preparation and planning for corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts and exempt organizations. A former secretary, treasurer and vice president of the Rotary Club of Issaquah, Zoe also served on its board of directors and continue to attend many rotary fundraisers and activities.

Zoe enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her three grandchildren. She also likes outdoor activities, especially skiing. After tax season, you will find her spring skiing in Whistler, BC; an annual event shared with family and friends.

Molly K Leonard

Associate

Molly has been a local fixture in tax preparation for over 25 years. She graduated from the University of Washington. Molly brings a wealth of experience to Fleck Jurenka, LLP from working with multiple CPAs in the Bellevue and Issaquah area.

A member of our team since October 2013, Molly joined us after cultivating her skills with Ernest H. Erke, CPA for over a decade. Her expertise, professionalism and cheerful attitude make her a valuable member of our firm and a delight for our customers to work with.
Molly works specifically with individual tax returns and assisting clients with tax planning advice. She also has appointment as a Notary Public.

A member of the local Star Wars Fan Club and Ewok Builders Club, Molly has been invited to exhibit with the Emerald City Comic-Con, Seattle Mariners Baseball Club and featured on King5 Television’s Evening Magazine program. Molly enjoys spending time with her daughter and extensive local family. Her hobbies include sharing her incredible culinary skills with friends, eating great food, arts & crafts, and outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and rowing.

Amy Howarth, CPA

Senior Tax Manager

Amy joined Fleck Jurenka, LLP in November 2024. Her areas of expertise include tax preparation and tax planning for businesses and their owners, individual income tax, and multistate taxation. She has extensive experience with business management, new entity formation, and small business taxation and accounting.

Before becoming an accountant, Amy spent over a decade as an insurance agent, working with individuals and businesses on risk management and asset protection.

Amy holds a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Bachelor of Arts in English with a writing emphasis, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a journalism emphasis. She is a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, she holds 5 insurance licenses including Life, Accident & Health or Sickness, Property, Casualty, and Personal Lines.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys international travel with her husband and daughter, baking bread, reading, and attending the local arts. In the summer, you’ll find Amy in the mountains or paddleboarding on Beaver Lake.

Cindy Angelo

Administrative Assistant

Cindy grew up in rural northern Maine, as the middle of seven children. She took a trip after graduation with a friend to Vail, CO where she stayed for two years, skiing and hiking. Adventure and new friends led her to the San Francisco Bay area where she became a huge fan of baseball. While living in WA since 1986, Cindy cheers for her home team until the SF Giants come to town, and then her orange fan gear comes out.

Cindy has enjoyed a variety of careers, including Montessori teaching, medical office management, event coordination, and marketing for a children’s therapy organization. She joined Fleck Jurenka, LLP in January 2022, after completing a 2-year degree program at Edmonds College for Business Office Administration and Microsoft Office Certifications. Her attention to detail and customer service skills are a great asset to the role of supporting the team and our clients.

In her spare time, Cindy enjoys live baseball games, and concerts, exploring WA State beaches, wineries with friends, donating baked items for benefit auctions, and time with her family. Cindy is passionate about animals and checked off a bucket list item in 2018 when she traveled to South Africa and experienced observing elephants living wild and free at Thula Thula; the location based on the book, “The Elephant Whisperer”.
